In conjunction with MSC Malaysia Open Source Conference 2010, OSDC.my invite all participant to join the competition called "Gecko Moving Forward". This competition will start from 29th June 2010 until 29th July 2010. Novell will have workshop on the 2nd day of conference to brief on how to join the competition and some tutorial on tools to be use for the competition.
The competition split to 2 categories;
1) .NET on MONO/SUSE (http://www.mono-project.com/Main_Page)
Mono Project
Mono is a software platform designed to allow developers to easily create cross platform applications. Sponsored by Novell, Mono is an open source implementation of Microsoft's .NET Framework based on the ECMA standards for C# and the Common Language Runtime. A growing family of solutions and an active and enthusiastic contributing community is helping position Mono to become the leading choice for development of Linux applications.
2) Create Software Appliance using SUSE Studio http://susestudio.com/
SUSE Studio
Build an appliance — or your own custom Linux distro — with a few mouse clicks. Customize it to your heart's content, and share it with the world!. All contestant had to create appliance with an application. Application should be pick from OSCC product. See list below;

b) MySpamGuard
c) MySurfGuard
d) MyNetWatch
e) MyWorkSpace
f) MySurvillance
These application can be downloaded form OSCC website (www.oscc.org.my)
