1) Global Jam Ubuntu - Ubuntu Loco Malaysia


Khairul Aizat, President Ubuntu Loco Malaysia

Khairul Aizat Kamarudzzaman a.k.a fenris @ ejat. He have been active with Ubuntu since 2007 and getting approved as Official Ubuntu Member on year 2008.Appointed as Team Leader for Ubuntu-my by Ubuntu-my LoCo team members in year 2009. On May 2010, He been nominated as Regional Membership Boards (Region: Asia and Oceania). He have been committed and passionate with Ubuntu currently involve with the event (conference, awareness, training, workshop and many more) that is related to Ubuntu. He role is to maintain and manage the community; To ensure that he keep up to date and oversee overall of other sub-committee in Ubuntu-my about the community and Ubuntu Community in Asia Oceania in general.

2) Joomla Day Meetup - Joomla Malaysia

Shaiffulnizam Mohammad, President Joomla Malaysia

Shaifful is a co-founder of malaysian Joomla Community, serving the community previously as a official Malay translator. Was a hardcore Joomla user since mambo (2002), and after that Joomla! Shaifful has been supporting Joomla user through Malaysian  Joomla Community website at http://www.joomla-my.org. Shaifful was also appointed as a speaker for Joomla Day Malaysia 2007 and 2008, mostly talking about Joomla SEO, security and Joomla itself. Now working as a full time teacher at  SMK Pekan, Pekan, Pahang. He is also a Joomla Trainer, experience in conducting training for government, private and personal. He is also involved in several open source project mainly in language translation since 2000.

Nazrul Kamaruddin, Community Manager CodeAndroid Malaysia

Nazrul leads a life as a creative information technologist. An experienced, self-taught designer & developer, he amplifies his knowledge & experience into building web sites, mobile applications, branding & media campaigns for people and businesses. Founder of Kuala Lumpur Google Technology Users Group, Nazrul is also the founding member of CodeAndroid Malaysia, a collective of Android developer advocates. He conducts knowledge sharing sessions on Google's open source technologies, Android development & open source projects by organising monthly meetups & hackathons at BarCamps and open source conferences.

4) WordPress Mini Conference - WordPress Malaysia

Simon Lim, Founder WordCamp Malaysia

Simon Lim is a self taught WordPress evangelist which build WordPress powered sites for the past 3 years. His expertise includes WordPress Site Optimization, WordPress Security and Scaling... Founder of WP Design Studio which is a WordPress-centric start-up since 2009. Simon organized the very first WordCamp Malaysia and WordPress Meetup in Kuala Lumpur. Loves to travels around Asia for WordCamps, Barcamps and other tech events. Simon is currently based in Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta.

5) Debian Day - Debian Malaysia

Umarzuki Mochlis, Founder Debian Malaysia

Umarzuki is System Analyst at local IT company (take a guess). He started to know and advocate Open Source software since 2006. He began Debmal.my (Komuniti Debian Malaysia's web page) as a side project, a.k.a. just for fun and also the coordinator for GNOME's Malay translation team.

Eric Yeoh, Founder OpenSUSE Malaysia

Eric is an enthusiastic user and promoter of FOSS and has been so for the past decade. He firmly believes in the good FOSS can bring to society and the IT industry as a whole. While he has a virulent hatred of distro wars and the perceived elitism of some FOSS practitioners he has remained faithfully married to openSUSE and the commandments of St. Ignucius. A lover of good food and drinks, you will mostly find him to be the last to leave the buffet tables. Obey the call of the Geeko!!

 

8) BSD DayPCBSD Malaysia

Ahmad Arafat, Founder PCBSD Malaysia

Ahmad Arafat a.k.a TRUNASUCI is founder of PCBSD Malaysia group together with Mr Mohd Fazli Azran, where the main focus is for spreading the BSD ( FreeBSD / NetBSD / OpenBSD / PCBSD and other BSD flavour ) campaign and other OSS software in the region. He’s also officially PCBSD ambassador for Malaysia. Being an OSS evangelist, his involvement in OSS started back in 1997 and never look back. Previously he work as UNIX technical consultant in HP GCM and system engineer in antivirus company. Done lots of teaching, courses, workshop, talks, demo, solutions on OSS like linux and BSD on private, government sector and local universities. Active in lots of mailing list like mypenguin99, osdc.my, pcbsd.my, official BSD-based, Indonesian BSD group ( and lots more ), web forum locally and anywhere in the world . He also writing HOW-TO’s since 2000 and been one of the reference to beginner of OSS in Malaysia. Involve in local translation project for PCBSD, kedidi, singa emas and few more. His BSD activity has been endorsed and supported by iXSystem, the BSD solution company based in Silicon Valley, California. He’s also doing technical consultation and solution, OSS-based for private and government sector. Besides that, he’s is doing courses, classes and workshop on BSD and linux

9) Mini Facebook Garage - Facebook Malaysia

Nasrul Amri - Founder Facebook Malaysia

Nasrul is author for Facebook Marketing book at Malaysia. He also a Facebook Application Development trainer before he started Xadira™. Nasrul is an International speaker and he talk mostly about Facebook platform either Business/Marketing or Development. Nasrul holds a Bachelor’s in Business Information System from the Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia.

 

10) OWASP Day - OWASP Malaysia

Mohd Fazli Azran, Founder OWASP Malaysia Chapter

Mohd Fazli Azran was OSS evangelist and are active use OSS from 1996. Join many OSS community and spread about OSS to public. Work as System Administrator almost 10 years and believe on OSS spirit "Sharing is Caring". Now move into Open Source Security for make awareness to public what is OSS security can do for community. Now OWASP Malaysia ready to move forward and spread and share information, technology and knowledge to all. It time to change!!!


We happy that OSS UKM community give co-operation with PTM staff for volunteer during MSC MOSC2010. It also a honor to us to have co-operation with UKM OSS community driven by PTM itself. OSS UKM will lead the volunteer during the conference. Hope we can co-operate again in another events. During the conference also student from IIUM also are volunteered . Community Events are open to all and it FOC after 5.30pm. Everybody are welcome to join and participate. All this community will have booth during exhibition (Exhibition will only allowed for Register Participant only). Please get knowledge and information from community for new technology and systemavailable from Open Source Software.
